The video I originally filmed got deleted, so I "borrowed" some clips from the internet and was able to make a half way decent video..this being one of the first videos I have ever made.

Final presentation
This final presentation ended up being kinda fun to put together. I was able to talk to my parents to refresh my memory on all of the technology based things I did throughout my life. I was able to incorporate these different points in my life into my slideshow. Instead of the presentation just being about class, I made it about a few points in my life where technology was really all around me. I'm not looking forward to speaking in front of the class, but I'm excited to share these different parts of my life!

The Not Quite Finished Concept Video
My original intention was to do a concept on the wide topic of Freedom. I was going to show that what we have in the US is not necessarily freedom, but its Liberty. I had recorded some video from a memorial service at The Ohio Fallen Heros Memorial on Veterans Day and I was planning on using that. The more I looked at what I had, the more it looked like a tribute for Veterans Day, so I changed my mind over the past weekend. My focus now is to do a video on Leadership. Showing two different kinds of leaders and their qualities. There is leadership through love and leadership through fear. I was able to find pictures on flickr.com that had a Creatice Commons license so I could use them in my video.
I am about 75% done with my video and it will not be done in time for class today unfortunately. I ran into some technical difficulties while trying to add audio which I guess is what I get for waiting until the last second to add audio. I have the video itself done, but I'm not able to access it. My laptop got spyware and it won't let me connect to the internet or open my documents or open Windows Movie Maker. I was actually getting kinda excitied since the movie seemed to be coming together better than I expected. My video is mostly a slideshow of pictures of leaders with an explination on the side of how they led...through love or fear and what qualities they possessed to help them achieve their goals.
-I will post another blog with my video when I am able to post the final product-

Beginning Thoughts on the next project
Well I still haven't completely decided on what I would like to do for my concept, but I am leading towards leadership. I figured that this could make people think about what a true leader is by using examples from history. I would use pictures of Hitler, MLK, Reagen, Ghandi and other great leaders in history. They all had huge impacts on our history...some were positive, and some not so much. Does a true leader have to have a positive effect on everybody? What really is a leader?
-Open with the broad question: "What is a leader?"
-Show pictures of MLK and Hitler
-Use some quotes from famous leaders.
I still need to figure out what kind of recording I can do myself.
-I have also been debating on trying to figure out some sort of Concept I could do where I could have fun with politics. I am very involved with politics so this would just be something more fun for me to do. Still thinking about it!

Finalizing the Narrative
This whole process was very difficult for me. As I mentioned in my last post, it took me a long time just to begin speaking. I did however enjoy the editing. I have been around audio editing for a few years now and it's something I don't mind doing. I am still very uncomfortable posting this online, but I guess it won't kill me. To be honest I didn't even do a whole lot of editing on the audio. I was uncomfortable recording this once, so I wasn't going to record multiple ones then pick out the best parts of all of them. I did stutter a few times, so I was able to omit those clips and replace them. I also figured I'd give myself a small intro to Windows Movie Maker, so I used that to upload my Narrative to my blog and just inserted a title so that it wouldn't be distracting. This did turn out much better than I expected and was a fun, but uncomfortable experience.
--I also realized later on that the sound I chose makes it creepy and reminds me of Halloween. Kinda appropriate for the time of year I guess!
