This whole process was very difficult for me. As I mentioned in my last post, it took me a long time just to begin speaking. I did however enjoy the editing. I have been around audio editing for a few years now and it's something I don't mind doing. I am still very uncomfortable posting this online, but I guess it won't kill me. To be honest I didn't even do a whole lot of editing on the audio. I was uncomfortable recording this once, so I wasn't going to record multiple ones then pick out the best parts of all of them. I did stutter a few times, so I was able to omit those clips and replace them. I also figured I'd give myself a small intro to Windows Movie Maker, so I used that to upload my Narrative to my blog and just inserted a title so that it wouldn't be distracting. This did turn out much better than I expected and was a fun, but uncomfortable experience.
--I also realized later on that the sound I chose makes it creepy and reminds me of Halloween. Kinda appropriate for the time of year I guess!

Recording the Narrative
Recording myself was probably one of the hardest things for me to do in a long time. I had to ask my partner to leave the room to start and even after that it took me 5+ minutes to get myself to say one word. The whole process was very uncomfortable for me. I hope that the one recording I did will be good enough to use for the project and I hope that I am the only person that will ever have to hear this! This is a good experience still though.

Audio Literacy Narrative Thoughts
To be honest, I'm not extremely excited about this project. It is awesome that it will push us out of our comfort zones to work with a style of communication that most of us have not yet explored. Personally, I am very uncomfortable speaking in front of people, but I guess it can work if I get creative with the project.
In looking at the DALN website, I was shocked to see all of the different forms that an Audio Literacy Narrative can be in. This site accepts posts from any of the following examples: diaries, blogs, poetry, music and musical lyrics, fan zines, school papers, videos, sermons, gaming profiles, speeches, chatroom exchanges, text messages, letters, stories, or photographs.
In a small way I am excited for the opportunity to be very creative with this project. I love sound production so I'm hoping that will be a benefit for me with this project. I hope it goes well!!
